    DESCRIPTION

    Upgrade your Borg Warner K16 turbocharger with our Billet Compressor Wheel. Our Billet Compressor Wheel will fit on Volvo S60/V60, XC70, XC60 models fitted with the 3.0L T6 "SI6" 6-cylinder engines with the K16 turbocharger. It is the same unit that is fitted to our Stage 1 3.0L 6-Cylinder Turbocharger Upgrade. It is also the same size as the compressor wheel fitted on the Borg Warner "2480" K16 turbocharger, which was used exclusively on the 3.0L Polestar Engineered S60/V60 models with the B6304T5 engines.

    Billet vs Cast Construction:

    Nearly all mass-produced turbocharger assemblies utilize a steel alloy compressor wheel which is manufactured from a casting. Cast compressor wheels are cheaper to manufacture and can be constructed much more rapidly. Billet manufactured wheels for example, are made from a single block of aluminum and CNC machined to an extremely high level of precision. A billet construction method allows for the aluminum compressor fins to be made much thinner than a comparable cast steel alloy wheel. The combination of aluminum material and thinner compressor fins greatly reduces the weight of a billet compressor wheel compared to a cast compressor wheel, by up to 15%! Reducing the weight of the compressor wheel greatly reduces rotating inertia and improves turbo spool up and overall responsiveness.

    6+6 Blade Billet Compressor Wheel:

    This Billet Compressor Wheel uses a large 6+6 Blade wheel design to increase airflow. With increased air flow, our Billet 6+6 Blade Compressor Wheel helps create more horsepower and torque throughout the entire RPM range powerband.

    Installation Notes:

    • Custom tuning of the ECU is required after installing our Billet Compressor Wheel. We do not recommend using this with the stock ECU file.
    • The nut holding the factory compressor wheel to the turbine shaft is reverse threaded. After installing your new Billet Compressor Wheel, use several drops of blue Loctite to secure the nut, and tighten to 50 in-lbs of torque.
    • Machining of the compressor housing and backing plate is required to install our Billet Compressor Wheel.
    • Our Billet Compressor Wheel comes pre-balanced during the manufacturing process. However, we recommend balancing the entire turbocharger CHRA after installing our Billet Compressor Wheels to reduce the possibility of an imbalanced factory turbine shaft and turbine wheel.
