DESCRIPTION
For those looking to maximize performance, a compressor bypass valve (CBV) upgrade is essential to sustain peak boost levels and extend reliability of your turbocharger. All Volvo turbochargers are fitted with a stock CBV which utilizes a rubber diaphragm and spring to recirculate boost back into the intake system. Because the stock CBV is designed for stock boost levels, its lifespan is significantly shortened once you increase boost (tuned engine software, etc.)
Turbosmart Kompact Dual Port Valve (CBV):
A fixed 50/50 vented valve, the Turbosmart Shortie Kompact Dual Port valves have been specifically designed to suit Borg Warner EFR and KKK turbos. They also fit the popular Ford Ecoboost engines. Unlike the standard, plastic valves that use non-reinforced diaphragms and are known to crack under increased boost, the new BW/KKK Kompact valves use O-Ring sealed piston which, coupled with their billet aluminum construction give them over 30PSI boost handling capability. This Valve is designed as a bolt-on replacement of the factory valve on all Borg Warner EFR, KKK Turbochargers. The Kompact Shortie Dual Port provides better boost response and greater boost handling capability.
Included with each Kompact Shortie kit is:
Model specific valve, Straight and Banjo Nipples, and Mounting screws.
**Note: As this valve is intended to release air into the atmosphere, it may interfere with vehicles equipped with a Mass Airflow Sensor.

If you plan on replacing your CBV with one of our upgrade kits, we also highly recommend replacing the original rubber vacuum lines with more durable silicone lines. The rubber vacuum lines can harden and get brittle due to excessive heat and aging, which will ultimately lead to a boost leak!
